The traditional stone house is located in the picturesque village of Pyrgos (Pyrgou), 20 minutes by car from Heraklion.
It is located in the middle of the village – typically Cretan among other houses, in a very quiet environment with a view of the nearby mountains. It was built around 1900 and restored to modern standards between 2007 and 2010, while maintaining all the traditional elements. The external entrance leads to the high fenced yard with trees. From there you enter the country kitchen-dining room with a central wood stove. Between the kitchen and the bedroom, cleverly placed, is the bathroom with toilet, shower cabin and bathtub. The bedroom also has its own exit
A wooden staircase leads to the large living room on the upper floor with a gallery and a loft, suitable for an office, library and guest bed. From the living room you go out onto the terrace with panoramic views. On the terrace there is the entrance to the guesthouse with a private toilet and sink.
There are parking spaces about 50 meters away on the adjacent road.

Heating is provided only by wood. The consumption to heat the house nice and warm in winter is 1 to 2 tons of olive wood. The stone house perfectly stores the extremely efficient heat from the wood stove.
Cool interior in summer due to the thick stone walls, therefore huge savings.

The village is on a bus route to Heraklion and has its own mini market and tavern. In the neighboring village (1km) there are all the shops such as a pharmacy, mini market, post office (closed for now), taverns, bakeries, butcher shop, gas station, ATM.
